Empathy
Empathy is one of the values that has shaped my approach to caring long before I entered nursing school. Through my work with vulnerable adults, I learned that people often need more than physical assistance—they need to feel understood, heard, and supported. Empathy helps me connect with individuals as whole human beings, not just clients receiving care. It allows me to respond with sensitivity and presence, even during challenging moments. In nursing, empathy strengthens therapeutic relationships and creates an environment where patients feel safe enough to express their fears, needs, and hopes. This value influences how I listen, how I communicate, and how I choose to show up in every interaction.
